Company Profile

From the Bronze Age a new civilization arose in Umbria, a civilization with it's own unique characteristics, devoid of any sort of foriegn influence. These people produced their own style of pottery using very simple hand tools, without benefit of a lathe. Through the years, Umbrians became reknown for their refined techniques of molding and engraving clay, as well as their intricate hand painted designs.

The history which binds us to earthenware is ancient, but love for tradition has enable the passion for pottery making, handed on from generation to generation, to remain intact today. It is in this context that the production of "CERAMCA PANFILI," with it's half century of activity, asserts itself.

Our founder, Giuseppe Panfili, was born in Gualdo Tadino in 1911, and from the age of 15 years was the apprentice of Prof. Giuseppe Discepoli from whom he learned the art of modeling and engraving clay. For the next few years, he refined his craft in the local pottery workshops. Then in 1950, together with other partners, he opened his own workshop where he remained until 1976. At that time, together with his sons, he founded "CERAMICA PANFILI."

Today, our family business is specialized in the design and production of  ceramic objects for home decoration. From the Umbrians, our ancestors, we have preserved the passion for the creation of every single object, while at the same time we experiment to keep up with the needs of modern man. Every object that we produce is true to the traditions to which we are so deeply attached.
